Callanwolde Fine Arts Center serves DeKalb County as a community events and fine arts center hosting concerts, performances, exhibits and other special events. The Center provides the tranquil setting of a beautifully restored estate, yet offers one of the liveliest and finest arts education facilities in the Southeast. Saved from demolition in 1972 by a group of concerned DeKalb County citizens, Callanwolde was once the estate of Charles Howard Candler, eldest son of The Coca-Cola Company founder, Asa Candler.
Callanwolde flourishes as a center for arts education and arts events. It is one of Atlanta’s few in-town venues for fine arts instruction and high-quality classes for students of all ages and skill levels. A wide variety of classes are offered in poetry, pottery, painting, photography, fitness, and dance lessons including the popular Tango Night with Tango Rio classes. Classes are led by the area’s most talented instructors and artists.
