Stone Mountain Park, Georgia’s Number 1 Attraction, has two championship courses as a part of the Stone Mountain Golf Club. Stonemont Golf Course is consistently receives a four star rating by Golf Digest. Stonemont was built in 1969 by famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones. This course is designed for the seasoned shot maker and is guaranteed to test every club in your bag. Lakemont Golf Course, The second course within the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort was added in 1991. The Lakemont course offers several greens around Stone Mountain Lake and spectacular views of the Confederate Memorial carving on Stone Mountain.
Heritage Golf Links, located in Tucker, Georgia, features 27 holes and a par-72 course. When it opened in 1996, Heritage Golf Links was rated one of the “Best New Golf Courses in America” by Golf Digest. With rolling hills, drastic changes in elevation, and a 20-acre in-play lake, golfers will be challenged and guaranteed to enjoy their entire time on the course. Just five miles from Stone Mountain Park, nestled among 265 acres of gently rolling hills and Georgia Pines is the Mystery Valley Golf Course. Located in Lithonia, GA, Mystery Valley is a par 72 course that lives up to its name. This quiet and beautiful course was voted as one of the Top 50 courses back in the 1970’s by Golf Digest. Tucked away in the heart of Atlanta’s DeKalb, Mystery Valley offers professional practice facilities and a fully-shocked Pro Golf Shop. DeKalb’s most famous course, the East Lake Golf Club, is the home course of legendary golfer Bobby Jones and is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta. Originally, the golf course opened in 1908 as the Bendelow Golf Course, but was later redesigned by famous golf course architect Donald Ross in 1913 and renamed East Lake Golf Club. Today, the East Lake Golf Club is home to the East Lake Invitational and has hosted the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola 13 times since 1998. This year, the tournament will be plated September 11th – 14th. Not only does the East Lake Golf Club have historic roots, it has philanthropic ones as well. Over the years, the East Lake Foundation has raised over $20 million dollars to help one of America’s worst public housing projects into a thriving, vibrant city.
