DeKalb CVB Sales Team Visiting Revolution Doughnuts
Looking for the perfect desert after a fantastic meal, our DeKalb CVB Sales Team headed over to locally-owned Revolution Doughnuts in the City of Decatur. Owner, Maria Moore Riggs, started selling her tasty, handmade pastries at the Decatur Farmers Market in the City of Decatur. In June 2012, she decided to open an actual brick and motor storefront after obtaining funding through a successful Kickstarter Campaign (see video below) to cover start-up costs. Many of the backers of the campaign were residents of the local community.
Revolution specializes in their organic, locally sourced doughnut creations. Their intention is to offer doughnuts made from scratch with real food ingredients and without all the preservatives and artificial flavorings. Located south of Downtown Decatur and near Agnes Scott University, Revolution Doughnuts sits across from the MARTA railroad tracks and offers a calm respite from the busy morning rush hour with a handful of small tables and outdoor seating as well.

Their menu seems to be constantly changing and evolving, with exciting options popping up on a daily basis, and when they are gone… they are gone. The Peach Doughnut Sandwich, Nutella Cream-filled Doughnuts and Salted Caramel Doughnuts topped with bits o’ charcuterie bacon definitely caught my attention.
Of course, Revolution Doughnuts also offers a number of hot and cold drinks to enjoy with their pastries. It is a wonderful place to enjoy a Cappuccino while sampling some of their original doughnut creations, which are always fresh and delicious. I am VERY proud to say I was one of their kickstarters… Revolution RAWKS !! these are some of the bestest donuts that I have ever had… If you haven’t had a chance to stop in… you are seriously depriving yourself of one seriously worthy indulgence
