DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau (DCVB) was established in 1984 as a non-membership bureau funded by the hotel/motel tax. DCVB markets DeKalb County across the Southeast as a destination for leisure travel, small meetings, group travel, sports tournaments and family reunions.
DCVB attracts visitors and groups to DeKalb County through print collateral, advertising, trade shows, reunion workshops, online marketing, social media, e-mail newsletters, direct mailing, public relations and sales campaigns.
Tourism plays a vital role in the local economy and benefits local hotels, attractions, restaurants and retail shops. While tourist activity means more jobs created, more revenue for the county and economic gains for local commerce, money brought into the county also translates into a tax break for DeKalb County residents.
